I agree, after killing one big bull, I was blind to them after that, and always took cows when possible.Yummmmm....
400 class antlers, so tasty

I agree. And I'm not saying one should only kill cow's or does. Nor am I saying antlers can't be impressive. It’s ok to be impressed by a big set of antlers.
After a yearthe meat will be gone but you can look at those antlers the rest of your life.I agree. And I'm not saying one should only kill cow's or does. Nor am I saying antlers can't be impressive.
But I don't understand the celebration over them as opposed to how many meals a big animal will provide,,, especially of some or much of it is being donated to hungry people. Why do we celebrate the antlers (or "I made a 437 yard shot on this ____) instead of the hunt itself, the stalk, the staying stone still when it counts, the homework and scouting done (when the hunter actually did this for themselves), the closing to 50, 30, 10 yards?
A bull of average or below average antler size or a big cow, hunted under tough conditions and taken close is far more impressive than a bunch of ornaments on the animal's head.
Not to mention that situations of rich folks paying a couple guys to find animal's like this one and monitor them all year, then call in a final location so the rich guy can just come in and shoot it, have completely soured me on any of this "trophy" animal nonsense.
