3 elk and 3 deer and two wild boars. Unfortunately none with a muzzle loader. 99?% of my hunting has been small game and birds and varmints.

Apart from small pests (varmints..?) so far I have never shot an animal, despite being (on and off) a shooter for 30 years. Here in France about the biggest thing you can shoot is Wild Boar and smallish Roe Deer. Which is why I decided to get a 'small calibre' .45 Hawken. I would like to give it a try though. But I need to do some research, it may be that BP guns are not allowed on the 'Chasse'.

Black bear and blacktail deer. First bear is in the pic on the left. Wish I still looked like that..........

I am very new and am getting confused about which powder or pellets are best to use with my tyron Pedersoli rifle and Pietta 1851navy colt need advice on what works best and is available. I also have a 45 cal. tennessee long rile coming from an estate sale please advise

Stay away from the pellets, use real black powder, start looking for 3f granulation and your good to go on any of these weapons, Side note have someone you trust and who knows about black powder guns and have the long rifle checked out before shooting it.

With my .32 Crockett rifle the biggest critter I have killed with it so far has been trained attack squirrels. They are mighty fearsome little buggers. They like to sit up on a branch and hide then when someone walks by, they leap down upon the unsuspected person. It requires nerves of steel to hunt them. I always carry my knife as a backup, just in case.

Meanest:
My first Canadian black bear. I took it with my .54 T/C Renegade.

Largest:
A Quebec Labrador caribou. I got that with my .54 Tip Curtis Pennsylvania long rifle.

I also got a bobcat with my Tip Curtis .54 rifle.

I use the same load for everything. A .530 patched round ball & 80 grains of Goex FFg.

That had better not be Rudolph, Bald Moutain Man, Santa IS NOT the chubby sweet guy that most folks envision.

I killed my first two bobcats with a .45 underhammer rifle back in the 1960. I got both in the same week. I did shoot a swamp boojum but that doesn't count.

This is why I don't hunt snowshoe hare.

Nice underhammer. What caliber?

Just a whitetail deer for me. I have a desire to kill a Tennessee black bear, but haven’t pulled it off.
