So not as knowledgeable about this stuff as you fine fellas, the blend I smoke now is 2/3rds cavendish and a rum flavored something another. It’s a local mix called the “crows mix”. Would that lean towards English?

After experimenting with several blends in the 90s I settled with a rum tobacco, Montego Bay being my main stay. Backwoods used to make a nice rum flavored cigar I used for cowboy events but they stopped making that one.
I think I stuck with Montego, despite some poor reviews I have read, because it was mild, smelled good, and all the comments I got from non-smokers about the aroma. Even my with who does not smoke pipes says she loves the smell.
But Historically Correct? Nope.

Mainly however both the wife and I smoke cigarettes but gave up buying packs some 10 or more years ago - TOO EXPENSIVE! Now we roll our own and use a good Virgina cut pipe tobacco (about $25 for tubes and baccy we get two plus cartons vs $80-$90 for just one carton)

But when I really want to just relax I Love to pack a bowl of Montego Bay into my favorite clay pipe or my briar MacQueen (fantasy, but not the "wizard" style) and just blow some rings and enjoy.

I've used BnB in the past and had good service. I also have had good service from pipesandcigars.com. Another fan of Stokkebye's Deluxe Navy Flake. For me it's as good as Escudo at a lower price. When I'm in the mood for an aromatic, Old Toby from The Country Squire tobacconist is good. Don't overlook some of the 'drugstore' blends. If kept properly humidified, Granger and Half and Half are decent, and affordable, options.

For those looking for a Frog Morton replacement, check on YouTube. There are several videos by folks who think they have found the replacement.

I really enjoy a pipe after a BP range session. Once the powder (and caps) is put away, puffing a pipe and shooting the bull with other range buddies is just so pleasant. Some good Community Coffee breakfast blend from the thermos adds to the pleasure.

Nothing better than a chaw of Days Work when hunting with your ML out of a tree stand.
Tried that, just couldn’t get past the impulse to swallow. My grand mother used snuff. A pinch behind the lower lip. Tried the small flake loose stuff once , got away from me, spent the next hour or so trying to get it all out of my mouth. Stayed with smoking tobbacos after that until giving it all up in 1989.
