And Cabelas and all on-line retailers are aware of the state-by-state restricions, if any, and will ship (or not) accordingly.
Not "all on-line retailers". There are dealers who will ship you things that are not legal for you to possess in your State. It's your responsibility, not the dealer.

Michigan has some strange laws on bp pistols, you can buy it without registering it. but if you carry it or hunt with it it is supposed to be registered

Sorry, but to stop the spread of misinformation I'm compelled to point out that this is an Urban Legend that I have heard spread often.

The fact is that prior to 2004 Michigan law required a "purchase Permit" aka "Registered" to buy BP pistols legally, but since 2004 they are considered "Antique Firearms" and no registration is required whether you hunt with it or not.

The open carry information for Michigan, including links to the actual state law and the Attorney General's statement on open carry can be found at http://www.opencarry.org/?page_id=257
Read it for yourself, don't take anyone's word for it from an online forum, not even mine!
