Hi all. I have a question and I hope I ask it correctly and that someone knows the answer. I'm thinking of building a Under Hammer from the kit by Pecatonica River. Does the nipple screw into the breach like on the Faeton breach plug design, picture attached, or into the barrel just ahead of the breach plug? I hope I asked that correctly.

It screws into the barrel forward of the breech plug.
Thanks. I had done some reading at Pacific Rifle company about their Zephyr so I was curious. Too bad they went out of business although it's not an under hammer I'd be able to afford anyway.

That's a nice sight but far more than you really need unless you are target shooting and then you really ought to have a more sophisticated rear sight for it.
You might be right. I'll just stick with the 2 I originally picked out. A rear adjustable and a front fixed blade

Lonewolf, yes, use the ones you picked out. I don't think you will be disappointed. Sights are a very much personal thing. It depends on whether you want a hunting setup or a serious competition setup. Also your eyes change over time. It is a simple process to change the sights as your interest changes and there are a zillion sights available to fill those needs. BTW I also love my underhammers. Good luck!
