Yep just keep finding things to do…

Locks all back together….functions way better, lightened up all the springs, polished the contact points, and reworked the sear & notch abit ! Runs quite abit smoother now and the trigger doesn’t need two fingers
to pull !
Just gonna tidy up the pan abit, the hollow is abit off…..

Getting there ! Work gets in the way most times! lol
Just getting going on the lumber now…locks tuned as good as I’m gonna get it !
Actually Found a replacement entry pipe (cast from original) had to come from England !! Looks way better then the brass blob it came with.

Should allow me to thin up the front stock abit and look much better
It will get rid of this bulky belly….and give a more slender look like the originals!

Gonna have to fill the old hole for the pipe pin though ! The factory one is drilled at a 45 and just won’t work with the correct entry pipe ! lol

What a Mess…..

On mine, one of the barrel lug pins was bent. It's good you're paying attention to the details. The builders in India I think were a little lax on paying attention to the details in order to get as much production as possible out the door for as little time and expense as possible. So it's on us, as well as on people like Loyalist Arms and Veteran Arms to improve on that sloppiness. With a little time and work, a really nice firearm can be the result.

So with the current prices of original Light Dragoons these days….especially ones in shootable condition !!!
I’ve went with an Indian copy.
1st impressions outta the box it’s actually not too bad…exceeded my expectations. Feels good/points well enough….and from a few feet away looks pretty legit to an 1821 pattern light Sea Service pistol !
Finish is pretty rough in places but decent in others. The 2 main differences from an original, it uses only one barrel pin, originals have 2 (rear one nonexistent on this) and the entry pipe is not even close appearance wise(I think they must be using the same ones for numerous guns) it’s actually the crudest thing cosmetically on the whole pistol….really quite terrible.
Lock is functional and actually throws a decent spark. (Definitely needs some tlc though) trigger pull is pretty stiff…and the trigger shape is pretty far from originals.(another case of one part for multiple guns I’m thinking)
Barrel measures 1” at the breach & tapers to .875 at the muzzle. Barrel thickness at muzzle .098-.1” Bore measures .632 !
Weighs 3 lbs 2ounces
Wood is obviously not walnut but is shaped decent enough…inletting is passible. Hopefully i can clean most of it up to serve as a decent shooter and passable replica !
