I am about to venture into attempting to brown a barrel and action on an H&A repro I am buying. Any suggestions and technical help would be greatlfully appreciated. :thanks:

Well, it helps if you brown in the summer in a humid climate. Since you are in NY, you may have that covered! What browning solution are you using? I had good luck with Whakonian bay (Yes, I know I spelled that wrong...), but it is no longer avaibale. I have heard good things about Laurel Mountain Forge, but haven't tried it.

Laurel mtn Forge solution imho works well used this on 3 guns so far and have gooten nice dk fin on all. Humidity really does help this process . They provide instrucions with their product . I dont like to polish the metal real smooth like a mirror, it seems to take alot longer to get things work and i'm a (impatient ******* anyhow) . I clean up the file marks and and so on I was using 150 emery wipe down with clean rag then clean off with alcohol, apply your solution per their instructions or vary it abit if you want to experiment :m2c: :front:
