I appreciate how you share the successes and the struggles you are having with this project. Nothing anyone doesn’t face but it’s reassuring (to me at least) that loosing stuff AND loosing my cool isn’t too unusual.
Glad I don’t have that “cuss jar” someone suggested!
It’s going to be an awesome Fusil. This is one fascinating journey. 🙂

Well ...you have good excuses then . I tell folks I'm glad I'm old now so I have an excuse ... I was clumsy , ugly , forgetful , in my 20s, 30s and 40s but now ! In my 50 s ! I can blame it all on being old ! :)
You haven't seen nothing yet. Wait 'til you hit 70. That's when the proverbial stuff really starts to hit the fan.

I did keep track in the past just to figure up price etc. and for curiosity ...but now , no need . it takes me 42-45 hours for a plank build trade gun making everything but barrel ,lock and bolts . Thats not including finish or browning , just actual building .
I think if you do that it becomes like work. Did you keep track of the hours when you were wooing your wi

Very kind , thanks bud . Fun sharing the build with like minded folks. :)

Enjoying this build immensely Rob. I love that you used the old steel for the butt plate. Very nice touch.
Glad your enjoying it bud . Like I tell local folks ....there's no one around here that I can talk trade guns or shop with ....its just , well , they have no clue what I'm talkin about and no interest so I'm really liking sharing stuff on here . Stoked that some folks are enjoying it on here . The old metal is nest. Its been sitting in the barn my folks owned for years . The previous owner of the barn was talking about it . It was banding material from the oil fields his grandfather got back in the 20s after he got out of WW1 . There was a bunch of it in there , I cussed it for years working around it and it being it the way of the implements and tractor ...then one day ' Hmmmm. That's a LOT of iron just sitting there ...maybe I could use it?". . the ole grey brain matter started finally kickin in . I cut it up into a bunch of 6' workable pieces and stacked it all by my gun shop . No more buying iron for N.W. gun trigger guards ! My buddy just gave me a bunch more 1/8" thick steel not an hour ago ! I am trigger guard rich now ! Gotta find some coal now and get this forge back in workin order .... :)

Took clamps off , dont look too bad ... Decided barrel channel first ...started re beddin barrel at end , went well ... Barrel Down , slab off bottom ...start rough shaping ...
