I like Bill Rabys videos but he has almost every machine...Rob uses the hand tools like I have. So works much better for me to understand.
Never heard of him , I'd like to check out his work ...I'm always interested in other folks' ways of doing stuff . Must be 10 different ways of doing each step . Something kinda interesting ... Folks will ask " Who is your favorite builder ?" . I have a few I admire ... Hershel and John House , Ken Netting esp .BUT ....one always at the top of the list is Alan Pine , and no one has heard of him or ever will . He is not only an awesome person but .... He can build any kind of flintlock he wants , be it rifle or trade gun , and he has no tools ... Oh he might have a couple old Chinese chisels or make one out of a screw driver but I've seen him rough out a N.W. trade gun stock with a hatchet one winter , in his house in front of a roaring fire ! The man is incredible at making flintlock firearms with little to no tools . He is an inspiration ! Just mind boggling ... Bare minimum building has always fascinated me since . I have four chisels and two gouges that I use ! LOL .... Wonder if I can find a pic of him with one of his guns . He and Lew Sowers got me started in all this ....bless their buttons

This lock was fit on a Fusil before , long story , ... so I have to fill this front hole ... I had a piece of 8/32 left over in the junk can , and last night added some collonial era epoxy to the threads and let it set all night and day ....just now , cut it off and filed it flush both sides .... See. !! ! I did work on the Frenchy today !! So MEH !! :p
