Sorry, Pitchy,
I shot worse with the little sight. The hole through it was too big and it was too high. Also it shot to the right. For whatever reason I shot patterns, not groups. I might cut the hole off and drill it lower and a little to the left, and smaller.

Okay, here is the before pic.
It is a yeager casting. I will try to make it a little closer to English Civil War style. It won't be the whole way.

In the picture above, the barrel looks like it has been fire blued. Did you blue the barrel or is it just the way the light is shining on it?

Bioproff,
Yeah, I noticed that too. It is acid browned. I must be the lightcoming in the window behind it. It looks good that way doesn't it?

Here is the after pic of the triggerguard. I couldn't get it completely but it will have to do.

Thanks Guys,
I made another artifact this afternoon. A matchlock needs a shooting prop. Enjoy.

I think that's great that you can share with you're youngin's. Did your grand nephew get to shoot it?

Volat, you never told us you had your own personal squire to carry the accoutrements, hold the rest steady, etc. Sweet deal! :haha:

Pitchy,
Sunday the 19th at a friend's house we are having a gathering for smoke and noise.

Bioprof,
No, but later, after dark I showed him how slowmatch works and lit off some prime on piece of cardboard on the front stoop. The first question was: "Can you do that again?" Haaww!

Musketeer,
Yes, a well behaved boy would really be good to carry things and hand them to me whilst shooting.

Mckutzy,
Here are the last decorative trinkets on this gonne. Now I only need a trigger return spring.
This is the first time I put religious symbols on a gonne. It seemed appropriate on this gonne.

You didn't mention whether or not you hit the target. I'll bet the experience with be with that young man for the rest of his life. Hope I live long enough to have my little Grandson go shooting with me. I have lots of Big Boy toys!
