Go with the GM barrel. I just put a new .45 on my TC. I love it, at 35 yds it cuts one small hole with 55 grs. FFF Goex, .017 patch, RWS primers and 440 RB. No fuss or muss. The first load I tried, how is that for dumb luck.

I just purchaced a tc hawkins 50 cal from an auction and it is a beautiful rifle, but i was cleaning it and felt the ram rod skipping in the bore, so i took a closer look and realized it has 2 slight bulges in the bore and you can see then slightly on the exterior also, is this thing safe to shoot and i know it will affect the accuracy of it also, what should i do?? do you think it is safe to shoot? i can proberly part it out and sell it for parts, or rebarrel it .

Its time for a rebarrel.
Shoot at your own risk.

I purchased a .36 from someone on the interseine and it had a ring in the bore. It had a nonfunctional lock as well that the person didn't mention. Well, any way, fixing the lock was easy. And I had it rebored to a larger caliber after playing with it for a year. So, said all that to say this... you might be able to get it rebored for a low price. Guess it depends on how much a bulge is, what part of the barrel it is located in, barrel wall thickness and what you intend to do with it in the future.
Could you measure the barrel bulged and not bulged? Pictures would be great if could be. Everybody might learn some good stuff with this one!
