My son's unit has just been called up for duty in Iraq.
He leaves on the 19th. Would those of you who are in the habit please say a good word to Christ for him.

I remember the worried look mom and dad carried with them for the duration that my older brother was in Vietnam, it's a tough thing to do, seeing your son go to war...

Best of luck to him...

Walker357,
i was in Nam and after being there for a year i am sure the only reason i came back unharmed was my training and prayer at least on my part. and even GOD would not want to tell my mother that her baby was not coming home. do not underestimate the power of a higher being!
My thoughts and prayers are with your son and your family.
please thank your son for serving our country!

God speed to him, his unit and everyone else over there. My oldest son come to me the other night and floored me with his announcement that he was going with a Marine Corps recruiter to take his ASVAB test and leave for boot camp as soon as possible. This announcement made me well up because I have wanted him to do this for the last 3 years. However, drugs and other evils got the better of him. For the last two years, we haven't spoken. When I asked him what he planned to do, he replied that he was going Infantry, like his Dad. While I fully realize this choice of MOS's may net him a plane ticket to the desert, I am so grateful he has recognized the error of his ways and is finally getting his life straightened out.

You and your son can count on me for a prayer for his safety. And to all the other troops over there serving their country. God Bless.

May the Great Spirits be with him and his unit for a safe return. May they be with you and your family to ease your souls till his return.

Walker357,.... The safe return of yore son and all the other troops stationed away from "home", are in this family's prayers!!

God Bless!!

Hey GobblerKnob glad to hear it about you're son. Maybe the Corp can straighten him out. I kinda feel like that's an answered prayer. And likewise Walker357 I'll send one up for your son also. Tell him thanks from all us here on the forum! May God keep him safe and sound as well as GobblerKnob's son! Godspeed to both of them!

On my way to prayer meeting right now!

Chuck

I served 3 years in the army during peacetime but my strongest admiration are for those who serve during wartime. We will never be able to give enough to those who serve and to those who have fallen. But I hope a thank you to you and your boys will suffice. I am behind those guys 100% and I know in my heart they will succeed at their mission, even though its tough right now. Success will bring a true peace. Again, thank you to both of you

My heartfelt thoughts are with both of you and your sons. My wish is for your boys to return home as men who have grown from what they experience in their military service. And I thank them for their noble and honorable effort.

I pray every night for all the service men and women who so boldly serve their country. A special prayer will be said tonight for your entire family .

Wow, I am not sure what to say, but, "Thank you." I say that to all our troops and their long suffering families. I truly hope that all goes well.
Rick, I hope things start to turn around for your son, and that you two can mend your fences.

Thanks, all. I'm proud he is answering the call and know this step, while very large for him, is in the right direction. Uncle Sam will put him back on the right track. He says he plans to make a career of it. He's excited about going and I'm proud of him for making this choice on his own. He will meet some great people and will forge a bond with them that will last for the rest of his life. The Marine Corps has an Esprit de Corps that I didn't find in the Army and I envy him his youth. Were I to do it again, it would the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor for me! Hoo Ahh!!!
God bless our troops, our president, and these United States of America!

My prayers to all of the troups and espesially to these 2 fellows. God Bless them and their families.

Friends on this forum were great when I needed them ,and to pay a bit back is an honour . My prayers and best wishes to your son , to all the sons and daughters.
As one of my favourite Americans said so many nights on the old tv ...'God Bless"
