Cottontails using a Ruger Old Army, a Pedersoli SXS 12 gauge while in Missouri. I also bought a .36 flintlock while there to hunt squirrels but the mainspring broke and by the time I got it repaired I was leaving the state. It was a Haddaway lock and when I called Freddie Haddaway he had to get out of the bathtub to answer his phone. He was good about it and sent me a new spring.

When I lived in Montana cottontails were everywhere and I shot a few with my .36 flintlock but many more using my Beaver Lodge .45 caplock targeting head shots. I shot a few sharptail with the shotgun.

I like to be in a place with good small game hunting again.

Small game, in my opinion, is the backbone of hunting. It’s where you hone your skill, that you will use for bigger quarry later in life.
