I am looking to convert a repro musketoon by adding a captive ramrod. Will either use an Enfield or Cook and Brother. Have any of you done this or have any suggestions? I am considering using the swivel portion from a repro horse pistol and making the lug which would be dovetailed into the barrel. If you have any close up photos or tips it would be greatly appreciated.

You may wish to try using a captive ramrod before converting your gun. They do look cool . Their only use was to keep a cavalry man from losing his ramrod while attempting a reload at the gallop They slow reloading but they sure look cool

Here's a couple of photos of an actual antique Enfield carbine with a 21 inch barrel:

Does anyone know where I can buy a Captured Pistol Ramrod for a Hawken type Pistol?

Warren Selke made a pair of copies of William S. Locke's Hawken pistols. Knowing him, he probably fabricated the swivelling ramrod device from scratch. He worked out of the Denver, Colorado area.
