Would I still have to do the cleaning routine if I discharge the ball and powder this way as opposed to firing it?

Not really an issue till you pop a cap the next day to clear the nipple before loading, if that's your habit or preference.

AJ/OH said:The CO2 discharger causes condensation within the barrel. You may want to run a few patches down the barrel to be sure to remove any left-over moisture and powder residue.
