I have a Patriot in the back of the safe, I like the pistol, it's a 1981 version. It's almost new and less than 200 rounds through it.

In all honesty, I think if I tinkered with the trigger a bit and added some weight to the end of the barrel, it could become a favorite.

Guess, I could spend some time with it.

Will see what happens, if nothing impressive, back to the back of the safe.

If you are serious about adding weight forward on your Patriot, I think I would tape it on under the stock, just behind the nose cap. If it feels good to you, consider putting a few small holes inside the barrel channel and filling them with either bird shot or strips of lead. It will put more weight out in front of the trigger for sure, and it might not be as tiring as at the end of the barrel. You might even consider getting a dummy ram rod and filling it with some shot. Slide it into position under the barrel and you have some extra weight forward to the end of the barrel. :hmm:

I've gone through several until I found the best and that's a "Carleston" underhammer 36 cal from Dixie. It aint cheap but it makes all the rest looks sick. You will have to put a new front sight in it before you shoot it but that is easy with a .050 blade and file it. Then order some .358 balls from Track of the Wolf, one .018 patch, and you can drill little holes in the target at 25 and 50 yards. 15g at 25 and 17.5 at fifty. You will walk away with the competition if you can shoot.

i have a tingle with a .45 cal. hoyt barrel. it will shoot with the best of them. $100 or less for the pistol $100 for the barrel puts you at the low end of what you can spend.

T/C Patriot??? Saw what looked like on one of the auctions last week it was not perfect and the asking price or starting price was 175 was on for a week with no takers and was removed. What was I missing was it some other model. Had the open type globe front site the saw handle and the retanguler brass buttplate. Or was it just to high.
