Everybody is out of stock, including Dixie

The covid shuttered down the factories in Europe. That coupled with panic buying put tons of pressure on the market.

MidwayUSA shows to have some Uberti 3rd model Dragoons and Pietta 1860s on hand as of 03/04/21.

2 reasons. People don’t want a background check. And the conversion cylinders. Sorry to mention them, but I believe that is why the revolvers are dried up.
Yes. Just this morning I saw at local gun shop, a pre-owned but as new, unfired, with box, Pietta 1860 Army revolver for $300.! I'm mulling over going back to get it. I have an ASM same model with the whiz-bang converter, but boy, is the Pietta nice looking!

SD this is realized it was merely a statement to attempt to place things in perspective, you guys better wake up and see what's coming our way. Even our beloved traditional muzzleloaders are on the chopping block, sorry if I ruffled your feathers but as they say THESE ARE TRYING TIMES.

Strangely enough when my percussion revolvers and conversion cylinders .came they were in two boxes.
One with the revolvers and one with the cylinders.. If they had been all in one box it would have required a FFL to receive them and how silly is that?
Bunk
Let's hope "they" don't find out about it!

I'm about to put a couple of muzzleloaders up for sale. My intention has always been to do so here, but I have a brother who occasionally buys and sells guns and he says that lately he's gotten more for every single gun and every batch of ammo than he would have anticipated, so I'm considering possibly testing the waters on Gunbroker with them. I try to treat people fairly, especially people here on the board who I'll still have to "face" if they're unhappy with a gun I sell them or the price that they've paid, but when people are lining up to give away their money, geez......

Gun Broker started charging fees on shipping because sellers were offering items for $1 and shipping them for say, $50 to avoid the fees. I offer free shipping. USPS, Insurance and GB fees run about $100.
It may be cheaper to sell them here. What do you have?

Thanks!

Walt

Law enforcement can’t get ANYTHING from a store database without a WARRANT first. We are not under martial law....yet.....

remember as a kid watching a guy buy a two slice toaster that did not work... for $20....New they were $18 !!

You are correct, sir, as Ed McMahon used to say to Johnny Carson!
I had a former pal call me up wanting to know if I still had any of the guns his wife wanted to get rid of about 10 years ago; I had helped them dispose of several guns her dad had. They dropped me as a friend, but when this SHTF, low and behold he calls me, says wifey wants one of them back for nostalgia purposes. Well, they live in an inner city high crime area, so of course I said I had none to "return" and I've not heard from them since. All of a sudden they think it's a good idea to have a
piece in the house! (Having a piece will help keep the peace, as they say...)

My new Leech & Rigdon came from Midway last week. It was the darndest thing: I come to learn the L&R is essentially an 1851 with a round barrel, so I start poking around the usual places for one and would you know it I actually managed to find it available at Midway...

...so of course my first assumption was it was a display case queen that they couldn't shift from over the counter. When it did come in, there were burrs and knockouts that hadn't been cleaned out of the frame and chambers, and the hand bound up against the arbor. Nothing that a full disassembly and slick-up couldn't fix, of course. Otherwise a good, tight gun. Best of all, the arbor actually bottoms out in the well. It is possible that Uberti addressed the length issue.

The biggest disappointment is with the grip: it is not as red nor is it buried beneath a millimeter of polyurethane. The pandemic must have hit Uberti hard if they're skimping out on the grip finish!

Sam, A warrant is not hard to obtain. I have even heard of police officers that have a traveling warrant (not sure of the actual name of it) If they pull you over and suspect something wrong they just search your car warrant in hand. Sure they may ask for permission first but if you say no and they eventually find something it looks that more bad on you in court.

What ever happened to those plastic disposable pistols that were bein talked about several years ago?

True. All the police office needs to do is provide reasonable cause to believe that a felony has taken place in the place of business. But consenting to a search or offering to “talk it over“ if you’re a suspect for any reason is NOT a smart move. Call a lawyer. Looking bad in court is nothing. Looking prudent and intelligent as well as innocent is MUCH better! If a policeman wants to search your person, papers, or effects, they better have a warrant. Seems like I read that somewhere... oh yeah, it’s the fourth of the Amendments and it’s every bit as important as the first and second ones.
