SOLD - Pending funds CVA Mountain Rifle in .45

REDUCED This is a decent CVA Mountain Rifle in .45. It has the 4 screw patchbox and barrel marjed MADE IN USA. The 32" barrel was left in the white and has a dull freckled patina. Bore is very good. Twist is 1:66. Stock is in very good condition with minimal handling marks. LOP is 14" and rifle weighs 8lbs. $350 + Shipping.

I have one exactly like this, 65gn of 3f under a .440 ball is boringly accurate at 50 yards.

I have two USA in .50, one is an unfired factory job. The other, my first BP and a kit to boot, has 70+ pounds of Goex shot through it. Still groups 2" at 50 with my 73 year old eyes. I gave my older son a USA .45 30-some years ago. It groups better than my .50.

Fair price. Whoever goes home with this will be happy.

Those USA made CVA's are tack drivers - I've had experience of a few - including the 2 piece stock 'Kentucky' all have shot really well. We did encounter a 50 cal Mountain Rifle where the bore must have been 'bent' inside the barrel - shot way off to one side - being in NZ there was no chance to send it; back so we bent the barrel in a jig, looked a bit weird but shot beautifully.
