Skychief, congratulations! That is a beautiful big doe. Great shot too. :thumb:

My dad had three Jack Russels (not all at once.) They are exceptional squirrel dogs! Tenacious as all get out.

It sounds kinda cruel, but Dad used to catch mice in his shed in a bucket trap, so they were alive when he checked the bucket. He'd have his JR there and have it stay back just a bit. He'd tip the bucket until the mouse could run up the slope and leap out then watch the chase. He said sometimes the dog had the mouse before it hit the ground. Rarely did the mouse escape. Terriers are great rodent busters.

Thanks Spikebuck!

Little Miss Ivy Rose (aka Charlie Manson :) ) has had a few squirrels shot out to her. All is well unless she beats me to the squirrel. Lets just say she has ZERO retriever cross breeding in her ancestry!!!!! It will continue to be a work in progress as she's got it bad for the squackers.

I can picture your Dad's fun with the mice. She's already caught some outside this summer as well as a couple of snakes. She's the only dog I've had that seems impervious to toad discharge too. Weird. Nothing seems to be safe or capable of escaping her attention!

Good to hear from you, Skychief.
