Howdy, My wonderful wife just surprised me with a Dixie Pietta Wyatt Earp Revolver in 44 cal. She thought it would be a nice addition to my Pedersoli Scout Carbine rifle in 50 cal. I know, not PC or HC. But wasnt going to tell her that. I'm not a dummy...

Question: All I have is 6 pounds of Pyrodex select RS and #11 caps. Can I use this in the Revolver ?

No one in my area stocks black powder, and I purchased the last 6 pounds of pyrodex select rs my local shop had, and they dont plan on selling it anymore either.

Dont want to order with the high hazmat charges.

Thanks in advance for you advice and wisdom.

Would the frame and barrel design of this pistol, be more inline with a 1851 navy or some other ?

Try travelers in Texas and they are quite reasonable and unlike the n-stuff you have now it doesn't go bad
(it's forever) ! Ed

Thanks for the quick reply ! I've never owned a BP pistol, so wanted to make sure.
I think it states 20 grains of fffg, so use the same amount of ffg correct?
Use a volume measure. Pyrodex is less dense than black powder and Pyrodex was developed to replace that volume of black powder.
