I use 50 gr. 3F GOEX with a precast minnie ball from a Lyman 575213-OS mold. The average weight of those minies is 460 gr. I have used the 530 gr. Gardner style minie ball (575611 mold) with 2-grease grooves and 60 gr. 3F. Those have a thicker skirt and require 60 gr. 3F to expand the skirts, sealing the bore for higher muzzle velocities and better accuracy.
Using 50 gr. 3F GOEX is equal to 65 gr. GOEX 2F but 3F burns hotter and reduces fouling.
