Dixie, Yesterday my brother in law was over. He was doing some work for a farmer the next town east of me. The farmer was complaining about wild pigs trashing his crops. My first thought was, Oh Yeah, .69 + pig= meat on the pole!! I had never heard of wild pigs in the area. He claims the one boar is a real tusker. Also claims the DEC says shoot them anytime, any weapon short of nukes, get them all.

I knew they were already a problem down around the Binghampton area, but I'm about 150 miles from there. This is a new one for me, to have them six miles away.

The wild hog population has exploded in this area of Florida. Ranchers hate 'em because of the damage they do to pastures. They have moved into more urban areas and made themselves quite a nuisance to homeowners and golf courses. More people getting into car accidents hitting them, especially at night.

I almost never drive down to S Fl without seeing pigs rooting around on the side of the interstate.

One of the biggest pigs I've gotten a good look at, probably well in excess of 350lbs, was rooting away happy as can be about 5' off the side of I-95.

Roby,
That is drop dead gorgeous! Personally I like the English style. The English smiths understood stock design in relation to large bores and controling recoil. Yours, dispite the majority decention, has the lock on the correct side. Now if you would like to see this beauty draw blood I just happen to be heading to Colorado for elk in September...hint, hint
