I'm going through the same thing with archery. I have hunted with a compound bow for about 10 years and currently have my Matthews gear for sale. I'm going to go recurve next year. I've got an older recurve I'm going to start practicing with after the first of the year and I will hunt with it next year.

I'm getting rid of my encore set up to. Next year I will be an all around traditional hunter. Recurve bow, percussion lock m/l. I'm going to buy a shotgun barrell for my New Englander so I can spring turkey hunt with my M/L.

Hope I'm not repeating myself here ...after years of shooting about every kind of gun made since 1870 thru the Uzi,AR-15,Mac 10+11's, and the 50 cal BMG I went backwards into the old Sharps and Rem rollingblocks ( a real shootable one was 600 for a nice one then) The only none ML we have at the house is my kids drop block 22 :rotf: If I had long shots to make I used the Enfield Vol 451 with 10X full lenth scope copy of one on a org buff rifle with a 2" wide barrel down at Lonestar. It's good for 1000 yds on a good day at hitting that metal full size buff. Fred :hatsoff:

EXACTLY!!!!

I have went to hunting deer with only long bow in archery, buck and doe season. I use my frontstuffers during ml season and for squirrel and other small game ,but the rule in my house was when i was growing up and still is :Never Ever Ever sell a gun nomatter how hard times are or how bad you want something else you will kick yourself at some point in time for it. I broke the old mans rule once after I got married sold a glock for a springfield 1911 and while i still love the 1911 I paid selling price plus 50$ more to get that glock back a year later after I realized that the old coot knew what he was talking about.
