Sorry your material didn't pass the test. True wood will not burn easily unless another source of heat is kept directly on it. Synthetics begin to melt into a gooey mess, that becomes a quite hard " plastic " residue.
I found this out trying to use an Old T-shirt, that I thought was pure cotton, for charcloth. It had synthetic( Stay-Press) fibers in it, and they melted and left this stringy mess I had to scrape out of my fire tin.
It is a very inexpensive, although destructive test that anyone can use, however, and its the fastest way I know, short of using high-tech lab equipment, to find out what you have in any fabric or substance. :thumbsup:
