Hello everybody. Does anybody use Fg powder in their Bess?
FFG is very scarce/non-existant in my neck of the woods and I am looking for alternatives.

Thanks, Rob

I have had great results with Fg in my Bess...

:imo: It provides a study push the whole length of the tube, whereas the FFg and finer charge will be exhausted before the ball exits the barrel and the projectile slows due to barrel friction... (just my thoughts on it, nothing more)

On the down side, it's dirty, fowls the barrel more and pours slower from the horn to measurer due to the larger grains...

I'm really not surprised. The fg with it's slower burn rate, pushing a heavy ball, would give a longer push to the ball. Much the same principle as slower powders in modern rifles. The faster powder is going to burn out and not continue the push for as long a time.
