about a year and a half ago I broke the jaw screw and replaced it with a janky homemade one.

Dang, I read this Ianh ahd had to go back and look at the picture blown up to see any flint!
looking at the geometry that flint should just about strike 2/3rds down the frizzen face.
i would imagine the earlier thread covered how to determine flint length needed so OP if you can't find any handily give a shout. there are about a half dozen guys that hand knap flints for fun and pain.
