Today was the opening day of PA's Flintlock season. My first time without my Dad, he passed on November 8th, in 30 years. It was hard walking into the woods without him, but the positive side of things was having my 13 year old son with me for the first time out during Flintlock. Here are a few pics of us and my Dad. My jacket I made about 15 years ago and my son is wearing my Dads jacket that he made and cut down a few years ago. http://i1371.photobucket.com/albums/ag293/eric_johnson13/20131226_074448_zps02bbebda.jpg http://i1371.photobucket.com/albums/ag293/eric_johnson13/20131226_074643_zps520b75a4.jpg http://i1371.photobucket.com/albums/ag293/eric_johnson13/IMG_20131127_172523_zps93cb4c31.jpg

Hey, I've seen that pic of your Dad before!

Good to see you out with the lad, passing along the tradition and everything it entails.

Amen! I'm with the rest...keep the tradition alive. Best way I can think of to honor your Dad and our Son! :hatsoff: Show him your Dad's photos, remind him every year...one day he'll pass the rifle and coat to his son. You're keeping the Spirit alive. God bless!

Great pictures. My Dad past away a little over 8 years ago when my son was only 5. He just turned 14 this year and every time we go hunting, I think about the time dad and I shared in the woods together. Fathers seem to go way to quickly. I think we should all do well to remember this and cherish every moment we get to spend with our children.
