first horn

this is my first horn, its not as nice as a lot of horns ive seen but i hope to get better! i made it for a neighbor and will make one for me to keep when i get better at it! i stained it with some red oak and its shiny with boiled linseed oil will steel wool it down when it dries good. the stopper is a spike bucks beam whittled down to look like a hoof, although its obviously not the best horn in the world im still kinda proud, as its the first one i made. i have a couple of goat horns laying around im gonna try to make a pistol horn out of one of them! mike

thanx for the nice words guys! i wasnt trying to make it look like an antique or anything, it will be one in a hundred years on its on :haha: the horn i actually use for myself was my grandfathers, its a very plain horn but it means the world to me! thanx again guys
 
:rotf: im thinkin at my age its not gonna be a new career!just somethin to do in the evenings as opposed to watchin re-runs! have you ever done anything with goat horns? they look really neat with the shouldering thats on them i really want to make a revolver horn out of one!
 
will get one posted soon , gotta get my wife to take a pic and load it for me, im not good at those things! i used to work for harley davidson and when we went from writing counter tickets to being computerized, i was having so much trouble i asked to be returned to the back , to the safety of my wrenches and oil soaked clothes! :haha:
