Howdy folks. This is my first post, but surely not my last on this board. Just wanted to introduce myself.

My name's Jake Wise and I am a 20 year old sophomore at Tarleton State University in Stephenville, TX. I'm an avid hunter, going after deer throughout the fall and then predators and hogs fill up the rest of the months.

I've been consumed by blackpowder hunting since the age of 12, when I took my first deer with a muzzle loading Hawken repro that was about as tall as I was. (Dad didn't believe in reduced recoil loads either :nono:)

I do not use inlines (nothin against you guys). I hunt with my muzzle loader's to get a feel for the past......if I want to hunt with somethin that feels like a modern day rifle....I'll take out my .308. Did I mention that I'm a history major?

At the present I'm thinkin about putting together my first kit.....probably one from Deer Creek. My father bought an Elk Hunter model from them years ago and I quickly fell in love with it. If not Deer Creek, I may try my hand at one of the Track of The Wolf kits....although I believe their skill level may exceed what I am capable of. Anyway, will be posting lots of QUESTIONS in the future.

Ya'll have a good'un.

Jake

That wasn't the case for me. My Dad was

a job and a place to take care of his new
family. I did start with a BB gun.
I did enjoy your introduction, Thanks.
You take care, Steve :) (Mtn-Man2u)

Welcome to the forum. I guess your interest in BP fits in with your major well.

Good luck with your kit, and keep posting.

Thanks for the welcome guys. I can't wait to start asking questions and learning more about building your own ML. I'd already be writing out questions, but apparently as of yesterday I've become involved with someone.

I just cant seem to take my arms off of Ms. Toilet's chiseled, porcelain body long enough to type. Gotta love the flu. :shake:
