It was mentioned earlier in the year that the Muzzleloadingforum members should have a get-together where we could meet each other in person. Well a lot of you will be at Friendship for the Spring Shoot...
Let's all meet up and introduce ourselves!

Any of you folks who will be there the first weekend and would like to meet fellow forum members in person should meet on the front porch of the gunmakers cabin on Saturday evening. I will hang out there from 8:00pm until at least 9:00pm on the first Saturday. Many Klatch will be there the 2nd Saturday.
For those of you who are new to Friendship, the Gunmakers cabin is just inside the main gate at the sheepsheds. You can't miss it.

It has also been suggested that we could have a forum members woodswalk. When the woodswalk opens Sunday morning be at the gate. Again, I will be there the first Sunday and Many Klatch will be there the 2nd Sunday.

Also, don't miss the Defense of Fort Greenville if you are there during the week. It happens at the blockhouse on the Primitive Range during the week. Usually a Tuesday. Our own member, grzrob, runs it. I got to shoot it 2 years ago and it was a hoot! I won't get to do it this year as I'm only there for the first weekend. If you're there make time to be at the blockhouse!

Hope to see you at Friendship! :hatsoff:

I’ll have to alter plans a little but I’ll give it a shot.
Shooting is out of the question since I’m not currently an NMLRA member and have more than a mild aversion to ever being one again. I will join this fall so I can make it to the Southeastern and do the Widowmaker get together next spring. After that”¦”¦”¦? They are going to have to prove to me that there have been some changes since the day in ”˜93 that I cut my card in half and sent it back to ’em with a note resigning an active membership.

FYI. You don't have to be a NMLRA member to go to the Southeastern. It just costs $10.00 more if you aren't a member. I figure you'd have to go to at least 4 rondyvoos to make up the nmlar dues. I only go to 2 (Southeastern & Eastern) so I'm not a member no more.

Despite that there is no announcement of the "Defense of Fort Greenville" match in the shoot program, it will be held by grzrob on Tuesday at 4pm. That is the match I'll take off two days for work to shoot it.
Jethro, I already asked Ricky why not have it on a weekend, but the date is set in stone. We should get together and discuss some more options for those historical matches. Usually the discussions in front of gunmakers hall go way past midnight

We ought to have a sign there so people walking around who aren't Forumites (we should come up with a cool name too) might learn of the Forum and join us. And the sign would spread the word of the gathering to those Forumites who might not read this topic.

For a starter if we could get a .pdf of "The Muzzleloading Forum, Keeping Tradition Alive" that we could print out and either copy or paint or otherwise scribe onto a small piece of canvas or board that could hang on our camps, that might be a good way to get out the word.

The stars aligned and if nothing unforeseen happens I will be there the first weekend.

I've been to Friendship twice before but not at a Spring or Fall shoot.

I'm really excited since all are saying the shoot is the thing to be there. Since I can't carry anything from over here I'll be more of a visitor and hopefully get to buy my first smoothie.

I'll try to make it to the Forum meet on Saturday.

I'll be there the first Saturday. I'm unlikely to make the meeting at the gun builders building. I'm going to try and take a few shots at the primitive range with my new rifle, though.

Well try and catch me and say howdy if you find yourself up on the top of the hill in the primitive camp. Look for an oilskin diamond and ask for Jethro. If I ain't shootin' I should be close by.
