Good deal, I've been doing that for 2 years and was shooting when most were sitting home. Easy method just be sure to follow directions! Make a scoop to fill the caps, just for info. I removed the anvil from a spent small pistol primer flattened the dimple out and soldered it to a length of copper wire. Fill the scoop to just over round not flat and pour into the new cap. The way I found easiest to hold the caps for filling is an old paint stick drilled just big enough to slip in a cap fill them and then seal. They sealing not necessary but I had a few fall apart so I mix 50-50 acetone and spritz bottle hair spray one drop each then pop them out after abt 30 sec. so they don't stick in the paint stick. I make 25 per stick but I have to mix a 3x batch for 25. MIX WELL NO LUMPS, even color
Good shooting.

I was trying to figure how to hold the new empty caps for installing the primer compound and naturally later for acetone - right now I have just made a bunch of empty caps...getting ready for next steps but it seems scary...

Couple pieces of wood lattice strips drilled with 20 holes in each strip. I get 17-20 caps per mix. I found a plastic earwax removal spoon from a dr office to be 1/3 of the small dipper. I also have a #3 cake icing funnel from wallys for exactly placing the charge.

Did someone post on here about buying the chemicals online to make the priming compound? I just ordered the primall pack from 22sharpshooter. As soon as I clicked on pay now I instantly got three notices that my card had been hacked. I don’t want to order from them again.

Yikes, that's freaky. I ordered 2 a couple years ago no issues from 22reloader.

I had no issues a couple of weeks ago. What payment method did you use; I used Apple Pay.

I have not ordered from SharpShooter because I have called and no one every answers the phone or calls back also have e mailed several times with no response I am hesitant to order from them because I cant believe their customer service is any good I will pay the higher price from DGW

I've ordered online from SharpShooter 3 times in the last year and a half. Got an instant email confirmation each time and shipping confirmation the next day. Received each order in 2-3 days. That's been my experience.

OK that is good but as I said no response from them by phone or e mail means I cant get any answers from them have called and e mailed multiple times so my experience with them has been bad

I got my potassium chlorate and antimony trisulfide from skylighter website. I already had finely ground sulfur at home for my blackpowder manufacturing. Get as finely ground chemicals as you can. You will need a good balance to weigh out your chemicals. The ground glass is not necessary to make a very powerful primer.

I'd imagine it's a small operation. Don't blame you for being put off from the no responses, no excuse in that. Everything is kinda like a manure shoot these days.

This is just what I did: when I ordered the priming compound I also ordered extra scoops knowing that some would go missing. I took one of those and filed it down pretty shallow and use it to put the powder in the cap body. After filling the little scoop, I place the cap inverted on the scoop. While holding the scoop with primer compound and cap together between the thumb and index finger I turn it upside down to transfer the powder to the cap shell. I carefully set the cap and primer down and add 2-3 drops of wood grain alcohol to the cap. I allow them to dry for a few days and they are ready to go. They work great.

I hot glued an old small rifle primer cup to a bamboo skewer to act as a scoop. One cup full per cap. Hold the empty formed cap in one hand and gently tap the full cup over it. Sometimes you miss. I do this over a piece of paper so the spills get reused. The now full cap is put into an empty primer tray. I fill the caps until all the powder is used up. Now I take an appropriate sized Allen wrench and gently compress the powder in each cap while they are sitting in the primer tray. Finally I have a mixture of Duco cement and acetone on my bench and add a drop to each finished cap. The Duco cement acetone mixture really makes the cap durable. In fact it works much better than acetone/shellac that I used to use.
