My choice, the fiber bend keeps the light out of the way. I usually have a couple as they keep growing legs when someone borrows it.

I use one of the ‘bobber lights’ for smaller bores, in the rare and HARD to find white color, but they are much more expensive.

I've used an LED electrical taped to some watch batteries before. Probably about as cheap as it gets, and it's easy to change the color.

I am old school. I use a small round mirror (from the hobby shop) glued to 1/2" long dowel. Put it down the bore, and shine a flashlight down the muzzle to see the interior.

I have a flex neck bore light similar to the one @Commodore Swab has. It works good. Also have a bore scope. It works too good and I see things I’d rather not see.

I'm a fan of the endoscopes that plug into the ol cell phone. Cheap and work great. Just make a thread with pics more for archive purposes than anything with one. I'm with TDM. Have a couple rifles that the bores look just fine with a light dropped in the bottom but with the endoscope it's more of a "oh my" with some wincing.

Hey, @ only 75-cents each … (if placing along side another order) … these are a BEST BUY!

Trimmed down they fit a 45-cal bore.

Drop a pistol case down the bore. Brass or nickel doesn't matter and peek down with a penlight. Lots of good, inexpensive ideas here.

Nice! And cheaper than the lighted archery nocks I've been using.

Honestly, I just use a pen-sized LED flashlight and I can easily see lands and grooves from the muzzle all the way down to the chamber. Borescopes and bore lights are for those small-caliber "cartridge" rifles.

I have a Teslong, and it's a nice piece of kit, but I've actually never felt a need to use it.
