Every time I see guns like that I think to myself "I wish that old gun could talk". I know a few guys that have guns with Douglas barrels, and they shoot very well. Sorry I can't help any further. Look like a little TLC might give you a lot of fun.

Bowkill, I think that birdseye maple gun could be remade, or reformed into a nice looking gun, based on the pictures. Good luck!!

There's plenty of room to reshape that stock. And the tang can easily be bent to fit. There's potential there for a nice rifle. The second rifle has some nice wood, but obviously needs a lot of work done to it. They might both be good projects, especially the first one.

The birds-eye maple stock on the flinter is going to be really spectacular when you get it cleaned up, do a bit of reshaping on it, and see if you can lose that dreadful greenish caste to the color. (Might be bad dye of just that my computer monitor is out of whack, but that looks really "off.")

The percussion looks pretty close to a wall hanger from where I sit, but if you're willing to put in a boatload of time into her, this might be kinda cool as well.

good luck with your project(s) ...
