A buddy of mine got this Colt handed down to him a few years ago. I finally got got to see it yesterday!! Holster, belt and mold were all buried with it the story goes. Road crew way back when was cutting out the dirt road to pave it, and this popped out?? Who knows!!!
Loading lever works, gun will hold at half and full cock! I looked up the serial number and it was made in 1854!!

Notice to how the lever catch is much thinner and the part where the rammer pass’s threw the barrel assembly is thicker. Makes looking at original guns more interesting for me.
 
WOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a story that gun could tell. How in the world did a guy (gal ?) lose their belt, holster and holstered Colt's, and mold all in the same place ????? There's a real story there for sure !! Thanks for sharing with us !!!!!!!
