Greetings Adirondackman, this is a post I just made on the Muzzloading Accuracy/patches and ball catagory;
Greetings WildatHeart, here are a couple of pics of a target I just finished shooting. It shows how good accuracy can be in you have (good balls!). These were four shots taken at 25yds with the big 58 Hawken using cast balls by Flintlock Inc. and weighing in at about 286.0 grns. The patching was a bit stout at about .020 had to hammer them in as usual, like we do in the competitions.
Maybe you can tell how big the group is, I aint much interested in measurements really, just wheather or not they are in the X ring.
The first shot out of a clean barrel is to the right of the others. The next shot was the next one to the left and the third shot was to it's left and the last shot was a little high cause I changed patching material to about .018 to make loading a little easier. It appears the group is to the left but considering the wind was very stout while shooting this morning (had a norther blow in) and shooting was done offhand I think it is pretty good.

ps sometimes you need to validate what you talk about here. These groups were made off hand at 25yds, from the bench they would have been tighter. But this shows how I feel you should be able to shoot when it comes to game/targets etc. And with the right combonation you can do it. And I didn't use the Sacred Dung Beatle or wasp nest either on these shots.!!
