Had a chance to go play with my Kibler .32 cal squirrel rifle

Haven't had a lot of time with work and all, but finally got a day to go shoot. Have a .32 cal Kibler that I built and I am really loving getting to know the little rifle.

Couple pics of my messy bench.

Got started at 40 yds with .31 cal spit patched ball with 20gr of 3f. Results;

Two shots in the left bullet hole, 4 rds. Second round, 4 shots with 25gr 3f and spit patched ball;

Getting better. Went up to 28gr of 3f;

In this one, my vanity got the best of me!! 4 shots in the one hole, wanted to be able to post a 5 shot one hole group, and immediately pulled the fifth one!!!!!!!!! Felt it when I did it!!

Anyhow, I have found my load for this little girl. All shots were wiped between with a lightly dampened patch with moose milk. Been trying to apply Dutch's methods. Learning slowly, but seeing improvement. All groups shot from a bench with rest.

That'll kill a squirrel! That is one sweet rifle. I can almost feel how great that rifle handles just looking at the pics.

Did you finish her up yourself? It looks fantastic!

Yes sir, that is my humble work, but I can take no credit. She handles like a dream, and is so slim and elegant. All the credit goes to Jim Kibler. I did the finish work with his metal patina solution, and the iron nitrate on the wood. Hand rubbed several coats of BLO, and she shines like a new penny!!

That's about what I shoot through my Rice .32 from TVM . . . (30g of FFFg).

Thanks for sharing. We've had a couple of fellows in my club build Kibler's kit rifles. Rice barrels, and a Jim Chambers Late Ketland lock have proven to be excellent shooters once the best load is identified.Your results are right in line what we've come to expect from Kibler's rifles. Whoa, Doc, that's amazing shooting at 40 yards. And that rifle just looks so nice. I use to shoot 30 grains of 3F in my .32 and got groups like that last one. My eyes haven't aged well and that type shooting is over for me. You definitely have your squirrel load.
