I'm trying to order a smoothbore barrel from Colerain. I used their contact form email to inquire and did get a response after about a week that they would do a 7/8" octagon 54 smoothbore. I replied 3 times with trying to actually order one and haven't heard back in over 3 weeks. I also have tried calling several times at different times of a day. Number just rings, no voice mail even. Anyone ever order a barrel directly and if so how did you get hold of them?
Thanks

Colerain is a two man operation. I haven't needed a barrel , or ordered from them for over a year. One or both could be sick with the *** Chinese flu. The version going around here is 3 to 5 weeks long. They are honest and won't lie to their customers. I know they used to keep long and sometimes early morning hours , 4 am 'til ?. If I needed a barrel , I would use email to reach them. .......oldwood

Thanks. I'll just be patient and see if they reply to my messages. Want to get a smoothbore built. They said in the initial email that they have no problem shipping to Canada. They just ship it with no vent hole drilled and call it a "floor lamp Column"!

a man that doesn't or want call me back or answer my email, is a man that does not need or want my business! there is a company called the rice barrel Company, i bet they will answer you! or call Charles burton at FCI barrels. he will be glad to take your order (606)780-7709,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Email sent to FCI. Maybe I'll follow up with a phone call tomorrow. His Website says orders are 9-12 months wait would like to get my name in. I'm ok with waiitng the time as long as I know its coming.

i just retired two years ago, i am a professional transmission rebuilder and was a shop owner, in fact i had several shops in my life, three at one time for years, or rather they owned me! sometimes i had so many transmissions to rebuild i didn't know what to do, but work! i never not answered my phone or not called anybody back! if a man is too busy to talk to me, he is too busy! and does not need my business! and is the very person i do not want building anything for me! because if you can't get ahold of them now, just think about when you have a problem! you want be able to find them with a posse or the FBI,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

You'd think they'd have an answering machine, but then again, muzzleloaders aren't the most up to date fellows! (I don't have an i-phone or navigating device in the car!) I like to call my e-mail 'the telegraph'! :)

i shipped a 700 Remington rifle stock to France i sold on eBay, i filled the paperwork out and listed it simply as "walnut wood" for some strange reason i think they thought it was for furniture,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Yeah, I sent a wooden shotgun buttstock once via one of those little shipping stores, and the guy almost had a connipshin (sp) that it was somehow something from a "gun". I won't make that mistake anymore!

Well Scott from Colerain called me this morning! Had a great chat. They just happen to be doing 7/8" barrels right now so he will build mine right away. (FCI barrels says 9-12 months on their website). When mines ready to ship he'll bill me. Great price too! 36" barrel, oxctagon to round on the last 4", breech plug as well, $185.00!
Patience is a virtue I guess!
