Welcome from central Ohio -- Utube and Turkish TV/Movies have left me truly fascinated with the city you live in. A walk through the markets, a stroll along the Bosphorus - if I were only younger.

Hello from the city of world's desire, so they apparently used to say. My interest in this hobby has been growing since my e-introduction about four years ago. Turkey's not exactly condusive to this sort of interest, but for someone interested in eastern miquelet lock firearms, it can provide some interesting diamonds in the rough. It has been hard to discuss it with anyone save a handful of flea market regulars in their senior years, however, so I figured I'd drop in. Hopefully we'll have topics of mutual interest.

Cheers,
Barud

Turkey makes excellent modern arms in modern CNC factories including very good "unmentionable" pistols. I wish the India factories that make replica flint and percussion historic guns would adopt the Turkish model! Greetings!

I own a couple unmentionable Turkish shotguns. Very high quality.

I visited Turkey in the sixties. I was military but always in civilian clothing; something about security. I enjoyed walking around Istanbul at night and staying at the Yesilkoy hotel. Went to Diyarbakir twice and loved it. It was like going back a few hundred years. The wall there is magnificent. I also visited Kemal Ataturk's mountain palace. I was privileged to spend a good deal of time on the black sea at Samsung and Trabzon. Turkey is beautiful and I was never treated better in all my travels. Welcome to a great forum. Dale
