Found problem, just needed to jiggle barrel a little.Got barrel out and clean tonight. Will shoot in the am.
Thanks murf

I just got my GPP and it is put together tightly. Don't be surprised if it's just as hard to get back together.

 Suggest tapping the end of the barrel lightly with a leather mallet. The parts are new and will get easier as you grow older. :hatsoff:

Had my GPP for about a month now ... didn't have the problem with removing the barrel. It is a great shooters. Waiting to hear your report on your range sessions. I am still working out the best load for my pistol. Enjoy ... You Will.

Well guy's,after getting the barrel taken care of and cleaning,I took her to the range.Started out with 30 grs of 3f .490 round ball and .15 pillow ticking. There was a slight wind blowing i had the target setup at 25yrds but my first shot i hit the bullseye.I was ready to pack it up, you cant top that one.i was getting one to two inch groups.Love that plains pistol. It shoots better than my 1860 army at 25 yrds. Can't wait to get my trade rifle and shoot her too_Only problem if you could call it one is when i was useing my capper it scratched the blueing around the nipple,i'm real picky about my guns.Guess it will give the pistol that real mountain man look. Thanks for the help fella's and talk to all of you real soon, murf

The plain pistol has a fly on the tumbler. It doesn't have the option of the set trigger that a fly makes possible but with mine, it is possible to pre set the trigger by holding the hammer and pulling the trigger slightly until you feel it ride up on the fly. One other poster confirms his will work the same way. This makes for a "hair" trigger.
Have to be especially careful doing this though.

You know i'm very impressed with the plains pistol.I love mine it's new, only put about 30 rounds thought it.I would like to think of myself as a decent shot, but it's no hard to keep most shot's in the black.I see guy's next to me at the range with comp 45's but i will put my money on that front stuffer every time.Shoots better than my 1860 army's.It's the best bang for my buck iv'e seen.Murf
