Ever since being raised by my grandfather in Southern Illinois I have always been attracted to and facinatied with homespun stuff. Grandpa only made about $1500 a year and we only bought what ever we had to have and could not make.
Sure, the Navy can have a fine aircraft carrier built with all the best foundries and metal shops on the intire planet at its disposal. But a handmade canoe built with simple tools, good material, sound knowledge and a pride of craftsmanship is true american folk art.
I think I have posted a story or a picture of everything that I have made for my persona and there is no need for redundancy. Anyway this aint about what I made, it is what have you made.
I would like to read about, or better yet see a picture of something you made. You could have bought the material to make it. Its got to be hand made, no store bought fancy stuff.
I would truely like to see your knives, powder horns, fire steels, hunting pouches, traps, pistols, hawks, sheaths, buttons, guns, capotes or caps. Anything you or your ancestors have made.
Things hand made by either pioneering or modern american hands are the finest this world have ever seen. Lets see 'um.
