Hi everyone. I'm new to the board and muzzleloading. Just starting to get my feet wet. Don't have a weapon yet, still trying to make the decision between flintlock and in-line. Here in PA we are required to use the flintlock to take a buck in the muzzleloader season but we have a special doe only muzzleloader season that is open to any type of muzzleloading long gun.

My cousin got me hooked when I used his Hawkin .50 cal. in our doe season. Now I've got the bug.

Any suggestions out there? If so, fire away.

TIA,
Bison

Welcome to the forum...

Flintlock, there is nothing like it...

Plus, flintlocks are a big part of Pennsylvania's history, some of the best flinters in the world were made there...

Get yourself a flintlock and all the accessories you're gonna need, read the owners manual carefully and thoroughly, shoot a lot, come to the forum with any questions you have, and be safe.

Keep us posted and let us know what kind of gun you get.

means as they are just plain fun to shoot.

Bison : Welcome To The Camp ! !

Glad you found us. And there's alot folks here
to help you with any questions you might have.
I live in a state that allows us to shoot
percussion or flintlock. I went with a T/C
Hawken 54cal percussion rifle. I really like
the way the rifle shoots. I have gotten a T/C
Hawken 50cal flintlock rifle. I haven't had a
chance to shoot it yet, I can't wait. Since
your state wants you to have a flintlock rifle
to go hunting, I would go with a flintlock.
There's alot of company's that sell
flintlocks at great prices. Good Luck!!
Take Care, Mtn-Man2u :)

Hey Bison, Nother PA guy here, Lancaster County East Side. I have a hawken rifle I'll sell you cheap and even meet ya at the range and show you how to get started if ya just stay away from them nasty inlines!

Serious though $125 ifn yer interested shoot me a PM.

Lehigh..

Welcome Bison - Glad to have you aboard.
Hope to see you around the forum.

IM jaybe

Go flint. Once flint, there's not turning back (unless you go match or wheel-lock). There's no mystique or joy to in-lines and you'll feel out of place at a Rendezvous with that modern smokepole.
