Granny's always got something cookin and there is a vat of possum grease rendering as we speak, only problem is keeping Jethro out of it, that boy will eat anything. Hee hee he.

Thanks Nit Wit, there was a very little meat on it. I just got the bees wax this morning at the farmers market for $2 a pound, thought that was a good price. Cheaper than trying to heard bees myself anyway. :hmm:
Jon

$2 a pound is better than a good price. That's a superb price. I picked up a three pound piece of filtered beeswax in upstate New York from Betterbee. I got it for $4 a pound and that was the best price I've seen. The unfiltered was cheaper, but I didn't want to mess with filtering it myself.

It started out a $3 a pound but when I said I wanted it all and some honey to boot he gave me a deal. It looks great, filtered and molded in small cake pans.

Jon

BTW the last I got was from Turkey Foot Traders and that was $4 a pound as well.

Dad Gum It! Comes the dawn at sunset...why if i had brains I would be plumb dangerous. Why didn't I think of that before? No reason whatsomever it would not work. Plus, I love possum! 'Nother thing, they are so dang easy to trap. Yeah, I know lots o pilgrims out there turn up thier noses at eatin the critturs..but...with all the grease/fat them little guys carry..why it is a gold mine imo. Really.
