Yes and it is outstanding. It allows me to shoot 20+ shots without swabbing. I'm sure I could shoot all day without swabbing but 20 is about as far as I have gone. Excellent stuff!
I just keep a pre-soaked stack of patches in a pill bottle for range shooting.
I haven't used it hunting but I will be this season. I use an over powder wad so powder contamination is not a worry.

Anyone use Hoppes 9 blackpowder solvent as a patch lube or???
Best thing since sliced bread for repeated shots without having to wipe between shots...ie:
50 shot range sessions with no wiping between.

I still have so many precut/prelubed patches with Natural Lube 1000 in them that I continue to use them for hunting, but the Hoppes No9 PLUS BP is outstanding.

It works real well for me also as long as i presoak my patches and not lube the patches as i shoot. Good stuff

I dump a bag of 100 precut/prelubed patches into a ziploc bag, squeeze in 2-3 squirts of Hoppes, and then work the bag of patches for a couple seconds to ensure everything is wet, and pour out any excess...at the range, I use them glistening wet.

That's the lube I started shooting black powder with some 30+ years ago. Only recently have I switched to Ballistol mostly. It's a good lube and keeps fouling down better than anything else I've tried (including Ballistol).

I use it and really like it. In the summer, Montana has a really low relative humidity, and pasty lubes like Wonder Lube leave a caked on crud in the barrel that is almost impossible to remove. The Hoppes solved that problem and shoots really well.

At the same time, I am still trying to work out a load with the Mink Oil from TOW or a similar lube for hunting due to concerns over powder contamination.

It has that Hoppe's sort of trademark smell...I grew up around it and think its great

Are you sure we're talking about the same thing? I didn't think what is called:
"Hoppe's No9 "PLUS" BP Solvent & Patch Lube"
was around 30 years ago...many of Hoppes other No9 products were but thought this "PLUS" BP version was newer than that, maybe not.

I do know there is an old style and a new style...old style being more of a liquid like water and the newer style being a little thicker with obvious lubrication feeling qualities to it

Bill, you might be right....thinking on it I seem to recall that it was just Hoppe's #9. Can't check because I don't have the original bottle anymore.

I love the smell of Hope's #9 the ladies in my house don't shear the same sentiments. must be a guy thing.

Most any of the BP supply / muzzleloading supply places here in the US carry it...(Track of the Wolf, OctoberCountry.com, Cainsoutdoor.com)...so I suspect that would be the case where you live as well...you might just "Google" it up and see what turns up in your geography or check with the suppliers you currently use
