I heard on the radio the other day that the Iowa DNR hade a goal of not sure of the exact number, say 100000,deer they wanted harvested and might keep extending the season until the goal is met.

My .02. I also hunt during shotgun. It's one of the traditions I grew up with. I don't drive dear, nor do my partners. We hunt. I am one of the fortunate to have access to private lands. I have problems with folks painting an entire group of hunters with a broad brush. Not all who hunt the shotgun season are drunken rednecks. I do agree that no do overs should be the rule however.BB. :v

I hunt them also except for this year.I did ok in the november season by my self, but most years i hunt shotgun and i have no problems with people doing deer drives because i am one of them. If that bothers anyone they can just go suck an egg.

Deer drives work and work well but in our centerfire season it's just down right dangerous. Some places have thin brush so thick that ya can't see beyond 20 yards and people are banging away with highpowers with no idea what's beyond the deer. With a little common sense and control it's safe; without both it's not.

There are a few who will hunt by themselves, or a buddy or 2 during shotgun season around here, but the majority group hunt, drive deer. That is allright, but they seem to hit the public land first. I saw more hunters driving up and down the road in their 4 wheel drives this year than I actually saw out hunting. flinch
