Yes, I've slowly accumulated enough Hawkens over the years that I could just sell off an armful of them to cover the thing...just be flipping assets I already have.
Heck, I still have some like-new .45/.50/.54cal round ball caplocks that I've been saving for the past 10 years "in case it turned out I didn't like Flintlocks"
Bill,I know some one who can take one or two GM flint 15/16ths .54's off your hands if need be   Ray

The only GM 15/16" x .54cal I have is my Flint smoothbore squirrel gun...probably need to hang onto that one

Yup, those hose attachments work well--I have one myself. They work just as well on the plain old flint breeches too. I just like to keep it simple and it doesn't get much simpler than a little hole in the side of the barrel. What I was talking about was the later breech style with the reduced powder chamber like some percussion guns have, not the hooked breech type. A friend has one of the chamber type breech flintlocks and it is always a pain to clean.

Roundball,
You ought to consider taking a vacation in July & go to Dixon's Fair.(near Allentown, PA) You'll get to handle as many different guns as you could want & meet several builders. It would also be a great opportunity to meet a bunch of the froum members too. It's more miles for you, but what the heck, it's a great vacation & you won't just be meeting one builder!
Like you, I was quite stuck on T/C's before I went to Dixon's fair the first time. I ended up going home with a new Tip Curtis rifle! :haha:

Its worth saying that my interest in considering something different is strictly that...considering something "different"...its not from any shortcomings of any of my Hawkens as they have been and continue to be outstanding in every respect...they lack for nothing at the range or in the woods.

Just starting to think about other things as I've spent close to 18 years with all these various T/C Hawkens...kind of like the last two cars I owned...drove one of them 16 years and eventually started looking around...got a new one and drove it 17 years and started looking around again and bought a new Trailblazer.

I'm just looking around at what else is out there before I go to the big deer stand in the sky

OK, I have what I need from my thread, thanks to all those who made positive contributions.
