Wow! Impressive to say the least ... but if he/she is preying on the domestic animal life, AND coming that close to the house .. well thats a tough call! :hmm:

I think that I would be replacing the back door. They are unsightly with bullet holes and big cat blood all over them...

Beautiful cat. Couldn't the local Fish & Game Dept. live catch it and release it into the wild away from the local population? :hmm:

Pretty brazen, unusual behavior I'd think.

1) Young and not afraid of humans?
2) Curious?
3) Starving?
4) Rabid?

I can't believe the timing of this post because just last night on the news there was an amatuer video of a Cougar that had gone into someone's house, then broke through/leaped out through a window screen.

A Cougar on my deck? I'd kill it first chance I got.

Saw in the news the other day a guy was walking in the woods with his 4 y.o. son (someplace out west, don't remember where exactly)when a mountain lion jumped out of the bushes and grabbed the kid. Dad jumped off a log or boulder or something and landed with both feet on the cat's chest, cat let go and ran. Boy was not seriously injured, just thought that was a mean kitty and did a bad thing.

In my location,a nuisance is usually taken care of by the triple "S" :winking: (Shoot,Shovel and Shutup). The local Game Wardens will not accept that any live here...but I believe for I have seen with my own eyes! :shocked2:

Nice picture. I dont think you have to shoot it just shoot off some rounds to scare it and it might avoid coming that close to the house. If that doesnt work you might have some problems later. I know in 2004 the cops shot one out of a tree in Lander Wy in the school yard that was watching the kids play on the playground. A friend of mine lives in Riverton WY and we were out on a guys ranch thinning out the coyotes and we had one mountain lion come in behind while I was blowing a rabbit in distress call. We didnt know it was there till we walked back to the truck and saw the tracks behind where I was calling coyotes from, those tracks were not there when we set up. You always have to keep an eye out for everything when you hunt out west.

Or brazen because they are losing their fear of humans. Due to lack of hunting.

Like coyotes and cats in california.

Just remember, cats is tough. Hit him good.

i would have shot him right through the window 3 1/2 in 00 buck 18 pellets burn all 9 lives at once

You got that right. When they dont get sot at they have a tendency to loose their fear of humans, especially Grizzly Bear. Out in Wyoming they have a habit of hearing a gunshot and running to that spot to get the animal you just shot. They were talking about opening up the season for them in Wy. this year but I havent heard anything on it recently.A friend of mine who owns a ranch north of Dubois has plenty of them to shoot, I wont hunt coyotes out there anymore unless its in the dead of winter.

I would grab hold of it's ears, put my thumbs into it's eyes and say, "bad kitty bad kitty"
:shocked2:

Man id love to get a crack at one of those with my bow or smokepole. We have another 5 cat experimental season in North Dakota again this year.

Fingers crossed.
