Any one out there have any books on India matchlocks? I'm getting an original barrel and want to build an India style matchlock just because . need to see how they look. I've seen a few pictures but would like more. If you have books , title and author would help. thanks for a great website...Chuck Thom

Hi Chuck,
The India matchlock is one of my favourits (mainly because its a matchlock) and some pictures is to be found in the really nice book "Firearms of the Islamic World", by Robert Elgood (published in England 1995). Maybe it can be of some help and I couldnt resist the opportunity to mention this swell book.
ARILAR :: :thumbsup:

Now this is one title that I must definately add to my collection! I'll bet there are plenty of snaphaunce and miquelete gun in this one.
:peace:

Just received my copy of "Firearms Of the Islamic World" and it has some beautiful works of art in it. The guns are from the Tareq Rajab Museum in Kuwait. There are a couple of critical reviews about the author but in my opinion the book is worth having if you are interested in Middle Eastern firearms. Has a good section on matchlocks from India. Just my 2 cents worth...
