I raise Painted Mountain Indian corn. it's one heirloom corn that will grow up here in NW Montana with our cold wet springs and short summers. It was developed from Mandan Indian corn seeds just for growing up here in our climate. It's a flour corn but it tastes good when picked in the milk stage and boiled like regular sweet corn just not quite as sweet as some of the modern hybrids. It makes a great corn bread and parches pretty good too.
