.530 round ball,.15 patch,55-60 gr 2-3F for target work, 60-80 for hunting. Snap a cap before loading. Invest in a Dixie Gun Works catalog. Lots of info in the back. Probably the best working man rifle T/C ever made!

Is there a specific book they have for this gun

Welcome from west central Indiana. You have a quality brand rifle. I have one. I use the loads Nit Wit posted. You Tube has a lot of videos on loading and shooting. I always snap a couple of caps on an empty bore to burn off any residue oil. Remember to not let the barrel be pointed toward your face when loading. Sounds stupid but people have got their faces burned from a flash fire in the bore. Get an adjustable powder measure and use it to load. If you have a powder flask never load the barrel directly from the flask. Most of all have fun and remember muzzleloading can become an addiction. Good luck.

There would have been but the one posted for the TC Hawken is going to be the same.

Get some 530 balls and some patching material in various thicknesses and go shoot. Start with the thinnest and work up in thickness until it's a tight fit but not a battle to load.
