ok i have this 20ga all ready to go, but the choke is a modified... no good for loadin roundballs. what kinda choke is it?
its not:
remington
mossberg
browning
hastings

it has the same thread as the mossberg, but the mossberg is loose in the bore (the thread gauge is bigger on my choke)

anyone know or know who would know where i can get a cyl choke for this thing?

thanks

Even though it's a "royal pain", you could remove the choke tube, load the barrel, then replace the choke tube. I have done this when I ONLY had a full choke tube and NO alternative... AND somehow, the accuracy wasn't too bad--it was quite good in fact. 3" for 3 shots at a little over 40yds. Maybe squeezing the ball tighter at the exit point works like the old German 88 flak guns used to?

It would be worth a try to fire a couple 3-shot groups at 40yds with that procedure... wouldn't it?

If you can get another modified choke tube... why not have a machine shop ream it out to cylinder bore? Don't know how much that would cost, but it would be an option... You could maybe get a barrel hone from Brownell's and "remove the choke" from the installed modified choke tube yourself.

I've never done any of this--other than that lengthy removal/replacement procedure--which worked quite well for me (Sorry I can't mention what gun it was on, as we're to avoid discussion of that style gun.)

Has anyone ever done any of these things that could help?

Good Luck on your project,
